Creating A Peaceful Bedroom Setting

Introducing our new blog series: Interior Insight, where we’ll be sharing our best interiors tips to help you create a home you love.

Our first blog of the series is all about Creating A Peaceful Bedroom Setting; a room for restoration and relaxation, somewhere to unwind after a busy day, the sanctuary you spend most of Sunday snuggled up in. Here’s six steps to a peaceful bedroom:

1. Incorporate Earthy Accents

Use earthy accents and neutral tones for a calming colour palette. Start with a neutral base, before adding hints of colour to your bedroom with accessories; we love pairing soft blushes with greens for a bright and airy boudoir.

2. Soft Textures

Being a comfortable temperature is essential for a rejuvenating night’s sleep. Layering your bed with soft textures, such as crisp linen sheets and cotton throws will allow you to cosy up on colder nights or cool down on a hot summer’s eve.

3. Embrace Nature

Accessorising with foliage (faux or real) keeps the room feeling fresh and alive. Why not go for an array of sizes, from bedside bunches to larger floor plants and add some visual interest with textured pots.

4. Sleep in Symmetry

Create a sense of balance, calm and order by grounding your bed with a pair of bedside tables, some soft, warm mood lighting either side and adorn the bed with an even number of cushions.

5. Add Calming Candles

Lighting a candle before bed not only makes the room smell gorgeous, but also relaxes the senses, helping you to unwind after a busy day. Our favourite scent is Molecule’s non-toxic Italian Kush candle.

6. Clear the Clutter

Keeping your bedroom clean and tidy will always make for a more relaxing environment. Whether you go full-blown Marie Kondo and get rid of everything that doesn’t spark joy, or opt for spacious storage solutions, keep the clutter at bay.
