Project In Focus: Aldgate

Project In Focus: Hackney

This weeks project in focus is our recently completed Aldgate apartment, we hope you enjoy the tour!

Located between Aldgate and Whitechapel stations, the inspiration for the design came from the apartments vibrant city location. When starting our design journey, we knew we wanted to create a colourful scheme that would be representative of the bustling surrounding areas, so our first step was to speak with London based artist Luana Asiata to see if she could help in our tight two week timeframe.

Luana sent over various options that she had ready to frame in her studio, but it was these two bright pieces that we thought would be perfect for the project. They became the starting point for the design, next came a neutral furniture base and then sourcing accessories that would compliment the artworks palette.

The journey from white box to chaos to perfectly styled!

When sourcing accessories, we always like to search for something a little different, particularly for a show home where we focus on creating memorable vignettes for the marketing collateral. The ivory magnifying glass and mustard yellow dried hydrangea from Dowsing & Reynolds were two of our favourite pieces in this project.

A combination of rich green tones and warm wooden accessories were used to brighten up the marble effect kitchen worktop. We mixed a green ceramic chopping board amongst the organic shaped wooden ones and popped a couple of dried oranges into a stack of mango wood bowls for additional warmth.

We selected two green based pieces from Luana and used our Jasper taupe striped and Maya duck egg blue cushions to create a calming bedroom design. Marble bedside tables were then paired with modern black metal and brass lamps to add a contemporary twist to the space.
