The Interior Design Process

‘How does it work?’ is another question we get asked quite often… You’ve decided you want help designing your space, reached out to your designer but what happens next?

Different studios work differently, but for us the design process is collaborative. We pride ourselves on our personal approach to each project, working closely with you to create a home you love. We work through a series of stages, with regular sign offs to ensure our design direction aligns with your vision.

STAGE 1 : Design Concept Direction

First, we establish the detailed design brief by asking a hundred questions, finding out about your wants and needs, your lifestyle, and what your hopes are for the space.

Then we begin our design process.

We create a concept presentation with a collection of images for each space to give you an overview of our design ideas and project direction. This includes all our inspiration for the space; design details, colours, textures and styling.

Next, we present this to you in a design meeting. This will be your first glimpse of your future home, and our way of showing the look and feel we are striving to create.

STAGE 2 : Detailed Design

After making any tweaks to the direction you request, we develop the design to create you a detailed package ready for procurement.

Proposed furniture pieces are sourced, floorplans and elevations are drafted and bespoke furniture and joinery drawings are created. Alongside this we gather fabric and finishes samples and request supplier quotes to work up a detailed budget for you.

FURNITURE SELECTION

STAGE 3 : Procurement & Implementation

Once stage 2 has been approved, we start the procurement process, placing the orders, commissioning the bespoke pieces and managing the suppliers and delivery schedule.

We liaise with contractors and consultants on all interior design decisions to ensure work is carried out to our design specification.

As the project begins to come together, we get ready for the installation. We customise this to work around you and your lifestyle, either storing the items in a warehouse or working toward a delivery week.

Once we are ready to install, we are on hand to help you add the finishing touches, dressing the space and sourcing any accessories you may need.

Technical Design & Construction

Where required, alongside the interior design process, we work closely with your site team to issue construction drawings and schedules for the interior architecture details; internal wall layouts, bathroom & kitchen detail drawings and lighting & electrical plans.

We undertake regular site visits to ensure every detail is being executed beautifully and that we are on hand should any site queries arise.

It is time for the most rewarding part of the process, the big reveal. You walk in and see your new home, your eyes light up and we know we have brought your vision to life!
