Little Venice, W9
Located in a stunning white stucco fronted Grade II listed terraced house, this project involved a full renovation throughout. The aim for the project was to craft an opulent, sophisticated home that complimented the building’s history.
The client sought to incorporate soundproofing, necessitating a lowering of the ceilings, which becomes a unique challenge when working with a Grade II listed building. To navigate this, we engaged a local architect and collaborated extensively to secure listed building consent. This meticulous process ensured the replication of original coving and preserving the integrity of the architectural details.
Faced with the choice between a classic contemporary furniture style and a slightly more traditional approach, the client explored both options before ultimately embracing the traditional aesthetic.
The bathroom stands out as a particularly special feature, capturing the essence of the client's dreamy princess vision for the home. The design combines a palette of pink hues with brass accents, creating a space that exudes both sophistication and whimsical charm.
Kind words from our lovely client:
"Violet James Studio (VJS) delivered successfully every aspect of my vision for my 1 bed flat. I had my flat fully refurbished and VJS handled everything from the builders to designing each room and picking the furniture.
VJS managed every stage of the design process patiently and effectively. I appreciated the visuals created to help me with understanding what to expect. I never felt restricted and always had several choices to help me as I’m a very indecisive person.
The furniture VJS chose was beyond perfect. VJS knew my vision and sought to find unique and interesting pieces that complimented my Victorian style flat yet stayed true to my personality and managed to do it all on my tight budget.
The energy, talent and passion VJS brings made the process extremely enjoyable for me.”
