Our ’12 Days of Christmas’ Gift Guide

We can’t believe we’re writing our gift guide already, it feels like this year has flown by but we’ve got the Christmas music playing in the background and we are SO ready for the festive season. We’ve put together a list of the perfect gifts for friends, family and our four-legged buddies! And, no matter the occasion, we’re certain you’ll still find something for a special someone’s birthday or even a little treat for yourself.

(Where possible we always try and shop from a small, local business, so if you take one thing from this guide, please remember that it really is true, when you purchase from a small company an actual person does a little happy dance!)

The Christmas Countdown

Nothing says it’s the start of the festive season like the first day of an advent calendar… This Pop and Slot advent calendar from Roger la Borde is sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and the best part is, it can be enjoyed year after year.

Add Some Festive Sparkle

We’re obsessed with this embellished eye mask from Laines London and think it would be great as a stocking filler or alongside a pair of their slippers or a some silky pyjamas.

A Christmas Candle

We love this Starry Night candle by Chase and Wonder. Hand poured into a reusable ceramic pot, the candle features a rich spiced, pine and orange scent. Our favourite part of this candle is the detailed festive scene featured on the pot, so not only will it smell gorgeously warm, but the jar will be a lovely addition to everybody’s Christmas décor.

For the Architecture Obsessed…

Our lovely friend, Roma Agrawal recently published ‘How Was That Built? The Stories Behind Awesome Structures’; beautifully illustrated by Katie Hickey, the book explains how some of the world’s most renowned monuments were built. We’ve bought a few copies for family members of all ages (let’s hope this is the blog they forget to read!) and we’re sure they’re going to love it.

For the Interiors Lover…

Treat your interior-loving friends to a new accessory for their home. We think this vase, like this one from Amara, would make a lovely gift, especially when filled with some seasonal foliage.

Be Adventurous

One of our favourite gifts to give (and to receive, hint hint) is an activity or experience. Whether it’s a weekend away, an outdoor adventure or a day of wine tasting, giving an activity-based gift is a great way to carve out quality time with friends and family and make some lovely memories. Pop your home made voucher in one of these beautiful Little Green Paper Shop cards and watch the seed filled paper grow into wildflowers after Christmas.

Christmas Baby

How cute is this Peter Rabbit ‘My First Christmas’ bib from Jojo Maman Bebe, perect for all the pandemic babies?! And if you want to make the family photo album even more adorable, you can get them personalised with baby’s name!

Have A Very Merry Christmas

We came across the local brewery, Old Bakery, during lockdown and they definitely made our Friday nights a more enjoyable! Founded by a group of Plumber’s who discovered a mini brewery in their office’s basement, this is a smooth serve the cocktail connoisseur in your life will love. If you want to give something that’ll last a little longer, why not get them a pair of gin balloons or a cocktail shaker to go with?

Pretty and Practical

A cute make up or toiletries bag will never go a miss. You could even pop some of their favourite beauty items inside as an extra treat!

Pampered Pets

As the festive season approaches, we can’t forget about our four-legged friends. How about this Scandi-style pet bed from Lord Lou, designed to sit seamlessly amongst your home décor?

Let’s Decorate

Whether you’re buying something sweet and sentimental for a child or something a little more stylish for a friend, beautiful baubles are guaranteed to make an appearance every year.

Wrap It Up

When it comes to Christmas wrapping, we like to stick to the traditional type, nostalgic of our childhood memories. Think red and green tartan, a little bit of something sparkly and of course, a perfectly tied bow. Nancy and Betty’s eco-friendly wrapping paper range has everything you need to create the prettiest presents under the tree.
